Junior Winter Academy
The Western District Junior Cricket Club Winter Academy is a high-quality player development program delivered during Term 3 each year. It is based out of the world-class Boorer Family Cricket Centre at Radford College in Bruce.​​​
​​Led by accredited Cricket Australia Representative Level 2 coaches, the academy provides a structured and professional training program designed to support male and female junior players.

With a focus on both technical skills and game awareness, the academy aims to create an environment for aspiring cricketers to quickly develop their game while keeping the program accessible and cost-effective when compared to other private coaching options across Canberra.

Every session is carefully designed to build a players technical skills while nurturing confidence, resilience, and game sense—qualities that extend beyond cricket into all areas of life.

Our Winter Academy is carefully designed to give participants a strong foundation in core cricket skills, setting them up for long-term success and cricket enjoyment - delivered in a fun and engaging environment.​​
​​For the more advanced players, we aim to prepare these players to successfully transition to Wests senior grade club, and also, compete strongly for junior representative level opportunities.

Regardless of where each participant may be in regard to their individual cricketing journey we aspire to provide them with the skills and cricket knowledge needed to compete and excel at the next level.
With our clubs sights firmly set on the future, the academy has the bold ambition to see a first-class cricketer pass through our program within the next 10 years. By combining world-class facilities, experienced coaching, and a supportive club environment, we believe this goal is within reach.
